Make S.M.A.R.T. New Year’s Resolutions

Happy New Year! January is a time to start fresh…to begin again…so it is only appropriate that January is National Organization Month!
In observance of National Organization Month, Space Savers has created a “31 Days To Organization” campaign to help you take the steps to becoming organized. Of course, because it is New Year’s Day, we have to start with the New Years Resolutions:
Make S.M.A.R.T. New Years Resolutions: S.M.A.R.T. stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Timely. Whether you’ve made a resolution to become more organized or a resolution for something else, be sure it is a S.M.A.R.T. goal. Following these guidelines will help you to focus and organize the steps you need to take to stick to your resolutions and attain your goal.

Day 12: Store and Organize your Scrapbook Materials
As stated before, I am a scrapbooker. So you can imagine how pleased I was when I received from my true love, on the 12th day of Christmas, a Scrapbook Hanging File Box and extra Hanging Files!
This transportable file box is made especially for scrapbookers on the go! It is sized to hold albums and can organize your photos and paper up to 12″ x 12″ in the included clear hanging files (3 are included – extra hanging files sold separately). The box even has a removable snap shut organizer in the lid to hold your tools and accessories!
Now you can take your projects on the go or just make it easier to have everything on hand when you have a free afternoon to indulge yourself
in your hobby. And with all the Christmas photos that will be taken in my household, I’m going to need a LOT of free time to indulge!
Happy Holidays and Happy Organizing!

Day 11: Capture, Store & Protect your Holiday Memories
I am the keeper of the family photos. Meaning, I have all my childhood photo albums. I have my dad’s old family photos. I have my father-in-laws family photos. I have photos of family members who passed on long before I was born! Add that to the thousands of photos I have taken over the years (not counting the digital photos I have stored in various places).
I also enjoy scrapbooking. Having my photos organized by theme or event is very important to me. I hate to create an entire scrapbook page only to discover a lone photo that got left out.
Of course, all of this prompted my true love (my husband), to give to me on the 11th day of Christmas, a Double Photo Keeper. It is a new item at Space Savers…and one that is very well received! This is what Spacesavers.com says about it:
“With 12 individual acid free photo cases, you’ll be sure to have your favorites handy at all times! Just grab a case and show off your latest pictures to your friends! Large size photo storage case has carry handle too!”
I use each case too organize photos by date or event (i.e. Summer Vacation 2006, Uncle Bill’s Birthday 2008, etc.). As you get prints made, you can put them in the individual cases and take them with you to show off to family and friends. The cases snap securely so you don’t have to worry about them getting crinkled, crunkled and damaged like they would in a photo envelope. The cases hold up to 4×6 photos. I like this system because it keeps photos separate and provides extra protection for those old family photos. The photo keeper is also available in a smaller, single size. Individual cases can also be purchased separately.
